Hey there, I’m Quimby!

I may be a senior, but I’ve still got plenty of love to give! I’m a laid-back, low-energy kind of guy who enjoys the simple things—soft beds, belly rubs, and being near my favorite people. I’m fully house-trained, polite, and non-destructive, so I’m an easy addition to any home.

I can be a little unsure at first, especially with new people or unexpected things like hats or masks. If you’re patient with me, I’ll come around—especially if you have treats! I’ll even give you a little nose tap when I want some extra pets. I bark when new people come in, but I settle once I realize they’re friendly.

I live with young kids in my foster home, and while I’m very tolerant, I’d probably prefer a quieter household with older kids or adults who respect my space. I have only met the resident dog so far; I may be fine with other dog as long as we’re introduced slowly. I will tell you, I do prefer my own space when it comes to food (who doesn’t!). I currently live with a calm dog that keeps me company when my humans are away.

I don’t need much—just a loving home, a comfy spot to nap, and some gentle walks to help me with my weight-loss journey. If you’re looking for a sweet, mellow companion who just wants to be by your side, I’d love to meet you!

Could I be your new best friend?

Quimby was recently returned back to HART due to no fault of his own. Quimby is on a weight loss journey and has already lost a few pounds in his foster home. Quimby is up to date on his standard antiparasitics, vaccinations (DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies), is microchipped and neutered.

Quimby can be a little shy when meeting new people, but warms up quickly with some treats. He is also working on some leash reactivity.
