Hello! My name is Vance, and I’m here to find my forever home. Let me tell you a bit about myself.

I’m looking for a calm, quiet home where I can be the only pet. I do best in an adult-only environment, and I’m not the type to go running or cycling, as my energy level is pretty laid back. I’m fine being on my own and can easily adapt to a changing schedule, so whether you work from home, out of the house, or even do shift work, I’ll be okay with that.

I’m a strong boy, so my future family will need to be comfortable with my strength and be physically able to keep us both safe if I get too excited. While I enjoy walks, I might not need them every day if I have a yard to play in and plenty of enrichment to keep me happy

I’ve mastered the “sit” command and am working on “down” and “stay.” What I really crave is love and companionship. I adore sitting with my humans, even in a hammock, and I always have a big smile on my face.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who just wants to be loved and share every moment with you, I’m your guy. Let’s make wonderful memories together!

If dogs could tell us their pre-rescue story, would we want to know all the details? Vance came to us after he was taken to a vet for what was believed to be a machete attack. Vance had one surgery prior to coming into hart’s care and another when in hart’s care. While he may have some permanent scarring, it is quite minimal versus the size of the original injury. The vet did a tremendous job! Now that Vance has healed up, he is ready for adoption. Vance is up to date on DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies and is neutered and microchipped.

Vance is a chill guy who is learning about city life. He is working on basic training, including leash walking and house training.

Due to Vance’s reactivity/selectivity, a home who is familiar with reactivity or is open to learning/training would be best
