The Basics:

  • Name: Sakura (but my friends call me Saki)
  • Age: Gracefully Maturing (like fine wine)
  • Looks: Elegant and Beautiful (I could be a dog model)
  • Hobbies: Early morning strolls, herding my favorite ball, and giving love to my special humans

A Special Introduction:

Hey there! I’m Sakura, but you can call me Saki. I’m a very special girl with a heart full of love and a brain full of smarts. I’ve had a bit of a rocky start in life, so I have some unique needs that come with my package of awesomeness.

  1. A Homebody at Heart: I thrive in a quiet home with limited visitors. Loud noises and bustling environments make me anxious, so a calm, predictable routine is my ideal setting. I’m all about the peace and quiet. Loud parties? No thanks. Surprise guests? Not my jam. I need a home that’s more library than nightclub, where the loudest noise is the hum of a well-loved book.
  2. Patience is Key: Because of my past, I need a family that understands my anxiety and is willing to be patient with me. I may not be the girl who wants to explore new places and meet new faces, but I promise to provide the best companionship given the chance. I come with a suitcase full of love but also some anxiety from my early years. I need a family that’s as patient as a saint and willing to give me the time to come out of my shell. I promise, it’s worth the wait!
  3. Morning Glory: I’m an early bird and love my morning walks. There’s nothing like being the first to sniff the fresh morning dew and leave my paw prints on the untouched path. Early risers, we’ll get along just fine!
  4. Ball Herding Champion: One of my favorite activities is playing with my herding ball. It’s a great way for me to have fun and stay active in a controlled environment. Move over, soccer stars! My favorite game is herding my beloved ball around the yard. I might not win any World Cups, but I’m a champion in my own right.
  5. Preferred Companions: I prefer the company of women and calmer personalities. I’m not a fan of the unpredictable energy of kids or the boisterousness of other pets. Think of me as your serene, four-legged roommate.

The Perfect Match:

I’m on the lookout for a home that’s calm and quiet, just like me. If you have a tranquil lifestyle, a gentle spirit, and the patience to help me bloom, I could be the most loyal and loving companion you’ve ever had.

Adopt me, Sakura, and let’s create a serene and loving life together.

Sakura is not a typical hart dog but we are happy that we can help her find her furever home. While Sakura has no physical issues, she was diagnosed with severe generalized anxiety disorder and OCD. This has necessitated some pharmaceutical support under the guidance of her vet and with her behavior team. As Sakura does not yet travel well, any veterinary work that has been done (vaccines etc) has been to her door versus in clinic. We know that Sakura’s perfect family is out there and when they are ready, she will be too by being up to date on DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies and being spayed and microchipped.

Saki is a smart girl who knows her basic cues. Saki has anxiety and OCD behaviours (tail spinning) which can be triggered when overstimulated (new people in house and new environments).  In her foster home, she is learning new ways respond to stress and anxiety.  This includes supervised play, physical activity and new cues like touch and turn.  Saki’s is house trained and crate trained.

Her adoption process will be slower to allow appropriate fit and support to ensure a successful transition.
